I cannot believe the other reviews. I came just because of its rating and I will not come again. Atmosphere is very nice but the food is of really poor quality (appart from the eggplants starters) and service is deplorable. Staff barely speaks English in the capital city and they recommend you enough food to feed an entire village when you ask for small portions for a single person. Result => ended up taking away and giving it to people in need down the street. Oh, I was about to forget, waiter considered he did a great job so he didn't give back the change without even asking :) Bravo !

Hello! I had the worst experience with this restaurant yesterday, Florii! I ordered 4 menus! Instead of 1 pm, after insistence, it arrived at 4 pm! delivery made with a miserable tourism, so improper conditions! Food put in bags, in boxes without aluminum lids, brine run in bags! I didn't get a picture of her! He saved his wife from the fish, which was burned! Inedible! The aperitif, the entree was full! piled anchovy paste, mixed for transport with caviar, with spinach and salmon roll! Folks, run! Better a pizza than food (like pigs) from Jaristea, for a lot of money! Shame on you!

May be a fancy place..with old and antique stuff..but not quite my type..i was there to attend a baptism..food was ok..staff service was kind enough..the music band...not that great ..the lady didnt know how to sing at all

Good food to very good. The excellent atmosphere is due to the way the venue and the quite successful artistic program are arranged, for which, by the way, you are not charged, it comes from the house. The wine is just glass, like a minus. You can dance on the live music of well-known artists such as Aurel Pădureanu, Doru Tufiș, as well as well-known musicians. The employer, Kira Calița's coana, is probably personally involved in the artistic program and even presents the benefits. I would be happy to come back.

What can you say about a restaurant that wants to imitate the times, customs and recipes before the modern era but which has current preparations but with names from other times? Unfortunately, that's my opinion. It is very, very crowded and here I refer in particular to objects, sometimes old, that give you the impression that you entered the house of a grandmother from the interwar period. I think if a little sorting between these objects were made and only the authentic ones would be preserved immediately the appearance of the restaurant would change. How about prices, do not know what period it refers to ?? At what old? Not much, because I'm pretty big. At the modern or the current one and you do not find yourself in the conditions where, and they are quite large and have little to do with the products you receive. About serving only in exchange. The guests give all their silence to serve you in the very pre-war style and even if they do not always succeed you must appreciate their silence. In a word Outside painted the fence .... And the continuation I think you know!

This is a beautiful place, clearly the owner has invested love, time and effort in putting together a unique atmosphere. Unfortunately, a restaurant is not a museum and this is why you should avoid eating at Jaristea. We visited on a Tuesday evening, when there were only few tables booked, however the food - rabbit stew and coq au vin - was old, tough, re-heated (minimally). Lastly, they informed us they can't accept cards; we noticed the tip was on the bill, but they almost forgot to bring me back the change and they never brought the fiscal invoice anyway! The waiters didn't seem too honest. We were planning to test this place in view of organising our wedding here, and while the artists and the place were wonderful, the food is simply too bad (and too expensive) to ever come back here again. Such a pity!

Fine food, great music, a special restaurant, well worth a visit

An elegant location, with very attentive waiters, with well-chosen dishes, a pleasant atmosphere, music as you rarely hear in a local. I give 5 stars even if the card could not be paid, they probably had problems with the equipment. The place also has a place for smokers, very cared for. Worth all the money.

Best place you can visit în Bucharest. A piece of history. The food is extraordinary. The lady owner will entertain you with stores, also there is live music. Can't wait to go back again.

Amazing interior design. A lot of good taste. I feel like I'll be in Casablanca, Rick's Cafe but instead of piano they have "the țambal" an mitological piece of Romanian musical instrument.

The food was ok-ish and the service ok-ish. The location looks good, but that's all. The check also contained the tip - this is not usual in Romania, but maybe they are afraid they won't get a tip.

I was at a group dinner, the experience was an extraordinary show! Besides the wonderful lover and the exceptional service, the locality tells you a story through the Lady of the Village, which is an out-standing presence. A place where I felt wonderful and where I would love to come back with love! Everything was superlative! Very good food. Relaxing atmosphere!

Located nearby Parliament Palace, this restaurant takes you back in time with its old times atmosphere. Their impressive menu is mainly based on old recipes. Here you will spend wonderful evenings with live music starting from 19:30 until the last guest. Upon artists’ daily availability, the different music genres - about 4 during the same night - varies from opera to instrumental, to old party folk. So it will be hard to resist not to try the dance floor also. Expect some beautiful surprises from the owner before leaving this restaurant !

Quality food! Amazing atmosphere

Price is not adequate to the quality of food. Pheasant was overdried and rabbit as well. Bread is very usual, local tinctures are insipid. Price in the bill is higher than in menu, and this is not because of tips. They said that today they don't accept card payments and I had to go to find ATM to pay. Don't spend your time and money there!

Impressive collection of old pictures, wall clocks, tableware & cutlery. Nice and vivacious live music. That's all about this restaurant as the food was horrible!! One dish left a mould taste but the stuff don't want and are unwilling to deal with the problem. Very disappointing I definitely don't recommend. Purely tourist trap.
